The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-seat air-combat fighter airplane, which was originally developed for the US Air Force by General Dynamics. From being a lightweight and daytime fighter, the aircraft has then evolved to assume a highly successful multirole image. More than 4,400 aircraft have already been built as soon as its production has started in 1976. Featuring a frameless bubble canopy and advanced aerodynamics, the Fighting Falcon is one of the first designed aircraft that have a relaxed static ability or a fly-by-wire system that enables it to pull maneuvers of 9g and achieve speeds that are higher than Mach 2. Nicknamed as ‘Viper' by its pilots, the F-16 is regarded as one of Cold Wars' most successfully designed aircraft.
