This 4 inch pull handle is not painted or coated - it has a traditional wax finish that shows off the character of the iron.  If used in damp environments, it can be allowed to rust.  It can develop a patina or rust as desired, or be maintained with an oil or wax finish.  Can be used with furniture, small doors, drawers and more.   The pull may have excess wax from finishing that removes easily.
